Renaissance | Farragut

Client: Myers Brothers Holdings
Location: Farragut, Tennessee
Size: 35,000 Square Feet
Completion: Spring 2006

When initially contacted by the developers of this 26 acre development, the design challenge was set with a vision for an upscale suburban mixed-use development that was to contrast what some would consider typical for this project typology.

The task to create a series of buildings that would be flexible enough for the various uses while establishing a sense of permanence within the serene landscaped setting was only the first challenge.  Acknoweledging historical precedent without imitation was the next.

The buildings took on forms that were similar in scale and proportion to historic buildings found in urban areas.  These features give each tenant an identity within the overall development with their repetition providing density and compactness at the pedestrian level.

The simple use of masonry units and exposed steel elements provide historical reference without imitation and/or replication and provide a sense of permanence uncommon to this project typology.
